If you’re wondering where you are in the onboarding process or why things might be taking longer than expected, here’s what to check first:

🛑 Common Reasons for Delays

  • One or more steps haven’t been completed (e.g. ID verification, uploading public liability insurance). Log in to your Kanda dashboard dashboard.kanda.co.uk  - You’ll see what’s still pending or completed.
  • Our review has flagged something:
  • CCJs or IVAs affecting your credit score - they need to be resolved to proceed
  • Company is marked as dormant or inactive on Companies House or the Accounts haven’t been filed. If that’s the case, speak to your accountant to: File micro-accounts | Update your company status | Resolve any outstanding credit issues
  • We're missing your trade body number or trade certification (e.g. MCS for renewables installations). Our onboarding team will contact you about those.
  • 💡We also send updates via email and WhatsApp, so keep an eye on both.
  • 🧭 Full Onboarding Steps

    Here’s the full process from start to finish:

    1. Create your account Enter your basic info: name, phone, email, password.
    2. Provide business details Select LTD or Sole Trader → Enter company/trade info.
    3. Pay your subscription Choose yearly or monthly (12-month contract).
    4. Verify your identity Directors or sole traders must complete ID check with DOB and valid ID.
    5. Complete your business profile
    • Select all job types you offer
    • Confirm trade body membership (if any)
    • Upload public liability insurance
    1. Kanda team review We review your submission (2–4 business days) and reach out if anything needs fixing.
    2. FCA application Submitted on your behalf. This takes 7–10 days typically, but the FCA can take up to 30 days.
    3. Lender onboarding Once FCA approval is in, we’ll onboard you with our lenders — this may take a few more days.
    4. You're live! You’ll get a notification when you’re fully approved and can start offering finance.
