Now you have more flexibility on setting up your team through the PadSplit dashboard. You can assign roles and communications preferences per property so we can send the right information to the right person at the right time. 

for your property team will determine what access each team member has within the product. For example, a finance role will only have access to financial information. Separately, you can set 

 preferences to determine which communications teammates will receive about the property. You can find a guide for each role function and communication preference at the bottom of this article.

On the teams tab in your dashboard, you will find a list of members of your team for any of your properties. You can click on each individual to view full information about each of the properties they are part of and which role they are assigned to. You will also be able to see the team preferences by property.

By pressing the “Invite” button, you can invite any individual to be part of your team. You will need to fill in the email of that person and choose the property and role they should be assigned to.

Every property needs to have an owner and an operator selected. The owner should be the person who actually owns the property, whether this is the person who is being paid by PadSplit or not. The operator should be whoever works to manage the day to day operations for the property, whether this is the owner or a property manager.

How do I set up my team in the dashboard?

Make sure you have created your Host account. On the homepage of padsplit.com, click the “get started” button and select “become a Host”. Enter your information and confirm that your account has been created. 

Click the “start a listing” button in the bottom left corner to begin the listing process. Follow the prompts to complete the listing. 

Once you have completed the listing, our team will be notified and you will hear from us within 48 business hours. You will know that the property has been added to our queue for review if you see that the property status is pending approval in your Dashboard home.

Listed below are some tips for completing your listing

Do not allow more than 1 car per room. Set the maximum capacity for the home at a number that will not upset the neighborhood. Consider whether or not a lot of people in the neighborhood already park on the streets. 

 Have room numbers and pricing already determined. Choose a naming convention by using themes. Do not use bedroom 1, bedroom 2, etc, as names. Pick neutral themes like states, colors or types of flowers.

How to list your home on PadSplit

During the listing process, you will be asked to draft custom move-in instructions for your property. PadSplit will email these instructions (along with lock instructions*) to a Member 

Take some time to think through the exact steps that a Member will need to take in order to access their home and room. Some important details to include are listed below: 

Include all of the details for accessing 

If a door requires a certain technique to open (some do!), you should 

. For example: "After putting in the code, turn the knob to the right, and if the door doesn't open, try turning it to the left".

 that a Member must press. For example: "After entering your code, press the # button" or "Hit the Yale lock button. When the screen lights up, enter your code".

If a keyed lock is used, provide detailed instructions for 

 to your instructions. Consider adding an image or diagram to help make the move-in process easier for Members.

It is appropriate to include a few other welcome details like 

. Determine how many spots are available before move-in so you can properly instruct Members on where it is best to park.

Here is an example of well-written move-in instructions:

Welcome home! To enter your PadSplit, use the main door located at the front of the house. Enter your house lock code and then hit #. Your code is personal and private, so be sure to keep track of it! The lock will beep once after putting in the code. Once inside, your room should be clearly marked with a room number. Each room has a keyed lock. Your room will be unlocked and your key will be located under the lamp on your bedside table. If you have a car that is registered with PadSplit, you may park it in the driveway - street parking is not recommended due to street sweepers.

*Door codes are provided in a separate section of the Member's move-in day email. Hosts should generate door codes for each Member before move-in day. For instructions on how to update door codes before a move-in, see

How should I write my custom move-in instructions?

You can set the number of parking spaces during Property Onboarding and edit this at a later time. Figure out how many available spots you have at the property and determine whether there is any street parking in front of your property.   

You can allow Members to bring a car if all the parking spots are full by selecting “Yes, there is additional off-premises parking available.” If there is no other parking available, select “No, the parking spaces above are the only available spaces” to prevent a Member from bringing a car onto a property that does not have room for it.

My home has limited parking available. How do I make sure that’s in the listing?

The quality of PadSplit homes is of the utmost importance.

 and submit a listing without speaking to a PadSplit team member. However, during the property listing, a property check must be completed in order to see if the property is ready to become a PadSplit home. The property check can be done using one of the following methods:

In both cases, homes will not go live until our Onboarding Team has reviewed your listing and photo submissions. If 2 business days pass after you fully submit your listing (you reach the screen that says “You submitted your listing!”) and you haven’t heard from anyone, please email onboarding@padsplit.com for assistance. 

Can Hosts create an account and onboard properties right away or do they need to speak with someone at PadSplit prior to listing their properties?
