While we want to know about any issues in your home, 

When you feel as though you are in danger

When you feel as though someone in your home may be in danger

If there is an emergency in your home that requires immediate assistance (a house fire, a break in, etc.)

What is considered an emergency? When should I call 911?

PadSplit thermostats are programmed to the temperatures recommended by the utility provider. Only the Host or the Host's property management team may change the temperature on a home's thermostat. This rule is in place to ensure that utilities are managed responsibly and that no extra costs need to be passed on to Members.

Where is the PadSplit office located?

Most PadSplit homes come with a variety of places to park, including a driveway, a carport or street spots. Please note that there are no assigned parking spots.

Occasionally, a Host may restrict vehicles if the maximum number of vehicles at a property is reached. If a PadSplit is restricting vehicles, it will be visible in your room's listing before booking. Members may only bring a vehicle if it is registered for an open spot. 

If the room you book allows you to bring a vehicle, the following rules must be followed. Violations of these rules are subject to our 

Members are only allowed to bring a vehicle to properties with open spaces (open spaces are shown at booking). If a Member's property has a space for their car, Members are allowed only one vehicle at a property and must register this vehicle with PadSplit. 

Vehicles must be properly registered with the state.

Vehicles cannot block other vehicles, mailboxes or trash bins. Members cannot park on the grass or in the yard at their PadSplits. 

. When parking in the driveway, Members should make sure their vehicle does not touch a neighbor's property. Vehicles that are abandoned or blocking access will be towed at the Member's expense. 

Members are not allowed to do work on their vehicle at a PadSplit, other than changing a flat tire.

Parking at your PadSplit

We understand that having your items missing or stolen can be very upsetting. PadSplit 

strongly recommends personal property insurance

 for Members who want to protect the value of their possessions. 

If you believe someone has stolen items from your room, please contact 

. PadSplit will discipline Members according to our 

, but we are unable to reimburse you for lost property.

Some of my items are missing or stolen. What should I do?

At this time, PadSplit cannot be used as your permanent address. However, we do can provide proof of residency for school and educational purposes.

Can I use my PadSplit as a permanent address?

If you have a mail at your home for Members who no longer live there, we ask that you take a quick moment to write "Return to Sender" on the envelope and put it back in the mailbox. Throwing away mail can be a crime, so please don't toss it.

We receive mail for Members that no longer live here. What should I do?

In most PadSplits, the Members of the home are responsible for cleaning and purchasing cleaning supplies. Talk to your housemates about a cleaning schedule and how best to share this responsibility and cost.

The sink is always empty and the stove is always spotless.

Every time you use a dish, pan or utensil, clean it, dry it and put it away. Want to soak something? Heat it up and clean it instead. 

Clean up any splatters on the stove immediately. Put away pots and pans that aren’t in use.

Shared bathrooms must be kept clean at all times. 

No foreign objects may be thrown in the toilets or sinks at any time. This includes, but is not limited to, feminine products, wet wipes, packaging, dental floss and hair. Fixing clogged toilets and sinks can run to several hundred dollars and these costs will be passed through directly to members.

All trash must be thrown in the proper receptacle. Please take out trash before the receptacle gets too full. 

All trash must be placed in the proper outside trash bin. Outside trash bins need to be pulled to the curb on trash day and pulled back to the home after pickup.

Who cleans the home?

The Host of your home is responsible for maintaining the property. When something is malfunctioning or broken in the home, a Member should submit a Maintenance Request through their Member Dashboard.

We understand that co-living can sometimes be hard. At times, you'll run into problems with your housemates. Common problems include:

We  encourage our Members who might be having problems to talk it out with their housemates. Sometimes, a simple conversation can solve the problem. You can do so in person, utilize our in app messenger or send feedback to your PadMate through 

What should I do if I see a PadSplit rule being broken?

I have a problem with another Member in my home. What should I do?

. An emergency is any event where you feel you are in danger of being harmed or the people around you may be in danger of being harmed.
