Do you want to customize the editor format?

Sonovel provides Writing preferences, ensuring everyone can work in a comfortable environment.

You can access Preferences through the settings icon in the top right corner of the editor.

Choose the most comfortable font type from three options.


Specify the most comfortable size from a total of 10 font size levels.


Select from three preset line spacing options.


Set the desired margins freely as per your preference.


Turn on the switch if you want to apply indentation.


Access features like Text Replacement, registration/deletion, and Local Backup settings through 'All Settings'.

Format settings

Sonovel offers a ‘Typewriter Mode’ to help writers focus more on their writing:

In typewriter mode, the cursor stays in a fixed horizontal position, and when you reach the end of a line, the text scrolls upward to make room for new text at the bottom.

Typewriter mode settings can be configured in Preferences.

It is initially set to ‘On’ and can be toggled on and off as needed.

When the mode is activated, the cursor remains centered on the screen as you type.

For writers who prefer ‘Curly quotes’ over ‘Straight quotes’, we provide the Smart Quote feature:

Smart quotes can be configured in Preferences.

It is initially set to ‘Off’ and can be toggled on and off as needed.

After enabling Smart Quotes, the quotes you write will be formatted as curly quotes.

For those who prefer a darker theme, we offer a ‘Dark Mode’.

You can configure Dark Mode in the Preferences section.

It is turned off by default and can be toggled on and off as needed.
