What are the approval criteria for Membership?

We’re looking for kind, independent, responsible and respectful Members who are open to living in a shared community.

The information that we collect during the application process is used to determine your eligibility for Membership at PadSplit. An applicant should meet the following criteria in order to be offered Membership.

Applicants must be aged 18 or older.

Applicants may undergo a national level criminal background screening.

Applicants with felony convictions in the last 7 years may be barred from membership.

Applicants with more than one eviction in the last 7 years may be barred from membership.

Applicants will have their identity verified by a third party provider.

Applicants must provide a valid government identification.

Applicants must show proof of income or be required to pay Membership dues up front. Please see

 What are PadSplit's income requirements? 

Having a credit freeze may prevent you from passing the application process.

Note: We do review your credit history but it is not a factor in the approval process. Please see

for more information.

 Will PadSplit pull my credit during the application process? 

Once you are a PadSplit Member, you will be able to view and request to book properties on the PadSplit Platform.

However, some Hosts may require  additional approval criteria  and we cannot guarantee every booking request will be approved. Other Hosts will opt to turn on  Enhanced Screening . If a host has enabled enhanced screening for their house, some members may not be able to book that particular property.

PadSplit takes fraud or attempts to defraud the application and booking process very seriously. As a part of our application process we rely on a variety of measures to verify the identities of applicants. PadSplit reserves the right to ban, terminate, or deny applicants/members if we identify indications of fraud or deception.
